Thank you for your order of the Employer’s Guide for Optometrists. To use the Employer’s Guide, please read and follow these instructions.
Please note, some of the Employer's Guide files require the Adobe PDF Reader or Adobe Professional. If you do not have a version of Adobe PDF Reader or Professional installed on your computer, or do not have the ability to view or print PDF files, you’ll need to install the free Adobe PDF Reader. Please go to http://get.adobe.com/reader/ and follow the installation instructions there before you try and use the Employer’s Guide.
How To Access the Guide's Files
The Employer’s Guide can be used on-line from any computer or any type of computer that has internet access without downloading and installing it. Just follow the instructions below.
To use the on-line version of the Employer’s Guide, or to download and install the Employer's Guide, please follow these instructions:

On the lower left of the screen you will find the Login area.

Log in with Username "egowner" and Password "egowner".

Once logged in, a new menu called Purchased Products will appear on the left side.

Select Employer’s Guide Files from the Purchased Products menu.

The Guide’s file list will appear. Follow the instructions displayed to use, or to download and install, the Employer’s Guide.
How To Use the Guide's Files
You will notice in the file list there are three columns. The first lists the name of the file. Click on the name of the file to see a short description of what the file is about and information about it.
- Click on “PDF” to open the PDF version of the file. From there you can save or print the file.
- Click on “DOC” (where available) to open the Microsoft Word version of the file in Word. You can save, edit, or print the file from within Word.
The Employer's Guide file itself breaks down, generally, into three sections. The first is information pertaining to hiring and firing procedures, law, and guidance. The second is the forms section, which contains a variety of forms to aid you in implementing the advice in the Guide. Finally, the last section is a comprehensive model Employee Handbook. You should read the Employee Handbook - Annotated before you begin to use the Employee Handbook. There are changes you will need to make, and a checklist is included with the annotated version to make it easy for you to personalize the handbook for your office.

Thank you for your order of the HIPAA Policy and Procedure Manual. The Manual comes in both PDF and Word formats. You can use either, though the Word (DOC) format is easier to modify for your office.
- The PDF version of the Manual requires the Adobe PDF Reader. If you do not have a version of Adobe PDF Reader installed on your computer, or do not have the ability to view or print PDF files, you’ll need to install PDF Reader. Once logged in, a new menu called Purchased Products will appear on the left side.

Select HIPPA Manual Files from the Purchased Products menu.

Click on the version you want (Word or PDF) and it should download and open on your computer automatically.
How To Use the Guide's Files
It will be helpful/useful for you to read through the manual once from start to finish to become familiar with both the HIPAA rules, and the contents of the Manual. You should assign your Privacy Officer (which may be the doctor, an office manager, etc.), then print the manual and keep it available in the office in a 3-ring binder.

- Select Employer’s Guide Files to work with or download the Employer’s Guide, and select HIPAA Manual Files to download either the DOC or PDF version of the HIPPA Manual.
- Follow the instructions displayed to use, or to download and install, the Employer’s Guide or to download the HIPAA Manual.

HIPAA POLICY AND PROCEDURE MANUAL INSTRUCTIONS
